What does Belfius Immo do?
Belfius Immo is a Private Equity entity, exclusively active in real estate development as a venture capital provider. They are not an investor in long-term venture capital, but rather an investor in development projects with a long realization period of 10 to 15 years. Because they are part of a large Belgian financial group, they also have all the necessary competencies:
- Thorough sector knowledge: in the field of architecture, construction technology and permits.
- Financial expertise and firepower: for venture capital and any other form of financing for developments
- Commercial opportunities: access to a banking network to offer real estate directly to customers for personal use or as an investment.
A separate company
Belfius Immo is a 100% subsidiary of Belfius Bank and as such is part of the Belfius Bank & Insurance Group. To ensure the necessary flexibility and resilience of its real estate developments, they were housed in an independent company. This allows Belfius Immo to have its own employees and Board of Directors who can make their own decisions completely independently of the Group. They can be called upon ad hoc as necessary to make decisions, which are often necessary and indispensable in this activity. This means that the management and members of the Board of Directors are in close contact with each other so that decisions can be made quickly.
