About
Belfius Immo

A short history of Belfius Immo

In 1982, the limited real estate developments within the former Artesia Bank were consolidated into the company Artesimmo.

Initially, this activity was limited to the development of the European Parliament. Further development within the office market followed from this. As part of this strategy, the acquisition of the company Brussels Business Center with the former iconic “Martini Tower” located on Karel Rogierplein was added to the portfolio. Although initially the “Martini Tower” was to be redeveloped and sold, the Bank’s Executive Committee decided to house its headquarters, the current Belfius Tower, here.

After the merger of Dexia Bank and Artesia Bank/Bacob Bank in 2003, the name was changed to DEXIMMO. From this moment on, the scope became broader and there was also a focus on other real estate developments and personal project management.

In 2012, all real estate developments were consolidated under the new company BELFIUS IMMO. Until 2015, BELFIUS IMMO was almost exclusively active for corporate clients. Since 2016, a new step has been taken as a residential real estate developer in core locations.

In this way, together with our solid partner developers, we aim to create quality and sustainable living environments for everyone and at the same time offer an interesting investment product to our private clients through our extensive network.

Belfius Immo is a 100% subsidiary of Belfius Bank and as such is part of the ‘Belfius Bank & Insurance’ Group.
In order to guarantee the necessary flexibility and resilience for its real estate developments, they were transferred to an independent company. This allows Belfius Immo to have its own employees and Board of Directors who can make their own decisions completely independently of the Group. The Board can be convened ad hoc as needed to make decisions, which are often necessary and essential in this activity. This ensures that the management and members of the Board of Directors are in close contact with each other so that decisions can be made quickly.
